Psycehdelic Integration
Where ancient healing intersects with today’s mental health
“Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember: you are the medicine.”
— Maria Sabina, Oaxacan Medicine Woman
Psychedelics, (a word formed of the greek roots psyche-mind and delic-manifesting), have long been understood as healing allies by indigenous cultures around the world. With Measure 109, Oregon has recently become the first state to create a therapeutic framework for psilocybin mushroom use. At the federal level, we are in the early stages of major legal restructuring of various psychedelics for healing modalities. These are indeed exciting times.
But it is important to note that simply ingesting a mind-altering substance is no guarantee of forward movement. Many psychedelic guides note the importance of ‘set & setting’ (having a proper setting to do inner work, as well as the right mindset), and of intention setting and integration.
My practice operates in a harm-reduction model, namely we will work together to reduce potential harmful impacts and maximize the healing potential of your journey. The vast majority of the work in bringing the heavenly messages received during a journey is in integration: finding ways to bring them to our daily practices is how we move forward in bravery instead of avoidance.
Please note that my practice does not provide psychedelics, nor do I offer to “sit” with clients while they are in altered states. This space is solely for discussing experiences outside of our time and focusing on maximizing their healing potential.
